Who is a drama queen or king?

Have you ever been called a drama king or queen? Or do you know someone in your family or friendship group or at work or a neighbour who is a person who is overly emotional and dramatic?

What makes a melodramatic person who overreacts?

I have read a few articles, talked to friends, and extended family and have seen there are signs of how to spot a dramatic person.

People who are spreading rumours, playing the victim, seeking attention, emotional overreaction, complaining all the time, being judgmental, not having empathy, exaggerating everything, and being very fussy.

That list is detailed but who decides what is dramatic, what is overreacting, what is judgmental etc?

Also, most people say drama queen when I am sure there are many drama kings as well.

I was called a drama queen as a child.

But I felt I did not fit in and did not understand. I would cry or try to discuss my point of view if I were being treated unfairly. I don’t think I was overreacting or playing the victim etc. The name stuck to me as an adult.

I think a real drama queen with most of the dramatic traits, would be hard to work with or for, or have as a parent or child or sibling.

Have you been called a drama queen or king?

What is it like to live with or work with or know a dramatic person who over exaggerates everything?

Why do we call others a drama queen?

Is it possible to change from being overreacting to someone who is calm and has empathy?
