“Give me
3 words
1 name
5 minutes
And I type you the story.”
This was the bold invitation at a stall in Cardiff Market. My curiosity aroused by the courageous claim, the typewriters, and the charismatic host, I drew near for a chat.
“How did you come up with such an adventurous idea?” I asked.
The chap said he’d seen performance poets doing a similar thing, typing improvised poetry for those drawn to this novel form of art. He’d confessed that poetry wasn’t his prime strength so somebody asked him what he loved to create.
When his younger sister couldn’t sleep at night, he created stories for her in-the-moment to comfort her. The bed became a submarine, ship, or even a spaceship. The seed was sown.
Whilst I didn’t have a story this time, I loved, and I mean LOVED, the idea. Thus, I thought I’d share it with you to see if we are in a creative mood to share today.
At random, the three words that come to mind are ‘curry’, ‘coal’, and ‘sunshine’ – and the name is a family member’s or a friend’s.
“Quick!” I shouted to Penny, “Follow me down the curry mine!”
We left the sunshine behind and let the delicious scent of raw spices draw us deeper, down, down, down into the rich seams of curry interspersed with the veins of spice.
Penny held up a nugget of pure Tikka, or was it Tandoori?
“Tag it and bag it, beloved!” I exclaimed.
Returning to the sunshine and surface with our bags full of findings, we sat around our coal-burning fire pit and grilled our fresh feast fit for our own harvest festival.
Now your go!
