I’m going to start with some basics:
1. Fairy lights make everything better.
2. There is no perfect or best Christmas, Mary and Joseph had straw.
3. Nobody really cares about the food, the atmosphere is the important part.
4. Having a break-out room can be an essential friend. Pad it with a support ‘blanket’ (maybe the dry roasted nuts) just for you. I have used a cupboard in the past.
And now for the business part:
I’m wishing a Merry Christmas to every single person reading. It can be a day of wildly differing emotions as we navigate through inevitable memories of Christmases past, and the good and the bad that ran alongside them. That can be a heady mix, especially when added to where your mental health sits right now. If you feel stirred today then remember you did the best you could with what you had. And don’t dwell there.
I wish you a day of peace inside your mind. Look back only if it’s for the good, if it doesn’t feel good then move forwards. It is Thursday and tomorrow is Friday.
I’ll light a candle today for those who are missing somebody, in any situation. Please feel you can leave their name in the comments so we can all remember them with you. The comments today are also where you can leave your virtual Christmas cards to each other, because Moodscope is our stable with Caroline, Adrian and Louis our wise men. Our thanks to you all!
