Memory like a sieve

How often have you heard a person say they have a memory like a sieve.

Memory is not like colour blindness or being pigeon toed. If you use simple memory techniques you may find your ability to recall names, events, facts and people gradually improves.

Some theories say that memory depends on three basic processes:

- Making a memory memorable

- Storing that item in your mind

- Recalling it at some time later when needed

I have used the sieve description but now as I age my memory lets me down most of the time.

Moodscopers do you describe your memory as being like a sieve? Do you find it hard to improve your memory skills? Do you find it hard to remember definitions of words, facts you used to know?

I have an item in my hand and two minutes later I have lost it, often temporarily.

There are many books about how to improve memory, but I wanted to ask Moodscopers for any tips that help them remember facts, people’s names, events, birthdays and where you have put a misplaced item.

Moodscopers any simple tips would help me get some confidence with my memory and skills at remembering.
