Learning Who (and What) to Believe

Who do you believe, what do you believe and who do you trust?

Some Moodscopers like me were brought up to believe in authorities, to respect the elders, to trust the police, to admire politicians and not to question what we were told.

When I was growing up my parents saved for years for a set of encyclopaedias, believed in the royal family, the library was the place to research and to answer my questions,

I believed what my parents and grandparents said, the newspaper was how we found about the news, and I didn’t know what a scam was!!

The world today is full of conspiracies, people you can’t trust, where everything you thought you knew is questioned and often called fake. AI now has people confused as to what is real and what is computer generated.

I will ask my question again who do you believe, what do you believe and who do you trust?

In a world with information overload and multiple versions of events, how do you navigate your way through so much information and confusion.

I cope by not watching the news or read any news on the internet. Maybe I am burying my head in the sand, but it is my way to cope.

I know I have made generalisations, but I wanted to start a discussion about how others cope and work out who to believe and trust.
