What do you write when you have nothing to write? One of the things my counsellor told me before I paused was that creativity can’t happen when we are in fight or flight mode. I find I’m rarely not in it, so what do you write when you have nothing to write?
Here goes. My tea is a little too hot to drink but it’s only about two minutes away from being perfect. The blackbirds are entertaining me and letting me know that I need to clean and fill their jacuzzi. The grass is still a little white from an early frost. There are two roadwork power tools being used in the street behind and it feels so wrong on a winter morning. It feels ok at 3pm in spring.
A ‘friend’ is not a friend if you have to put their description inside inverted commas. I set them free. Quietly. I just stepped away and stopped replying when I realised they made themselves feel better by using me as their crash pad, and to hide insults behind jokes. I feel great!
The tea is now a perfect drinking temperature, and that is a sweet spot. Nothing profound in here today but I do send my wishes that your day steps forward bit by bit, and that you remind yourself things don’t have to be great. Bang average is good enough.
